A great hemispherical shell dominates the composition face-on, its surface perforated by openings of every order: rectangular windows flush with the skin, oval apertures that suggest the breathing holes of a marine creature, arched ground-level entrances wide enough to swallow entire crowds, cantilevered balconies projecting outward like fins testing the air.
